Bethesda Methodist Church

Undertaken by Malcolm in a previous practice, this scheme involved the technical design and construction support for the re-ordering and refurbishment of a Listed church community facility.

The objective was to redevelop and extend the existing building to provide attractive, modern, safe and more flexible premises for the Church and community.

The three areas of major concern were the unattractive and unwelcoming entrance to the rear premises, the kitchen and an underlying damp problem affecting the whole north side of the premises.

This scheme also gave an opportunity to address issues with a building that has developed piecemeal over many years, with narrow corridors, changes in floor levels and lacking a sense of cohesiveness and integration with the Sanctuary.
